"Media-obsessed clown": Bedouins attack Itamar Ben Gvir
While the Ministry of National Security promotes tree planting in the Negev to prevent illegal construction through official state presence, the Council for Unrecognized Villages in the Negev criticizes the minister's actions: "After even the crocodiles bit his rear, he is left only with the illusion of 'governance' in the Negev."
In recent days, the Jewish National Fund (KKL) and the Israel Land Authority have been carrying out preparations for tree planting in the Negev, near Highway 6, which will take place on the upcoming Tu BiShvat. Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir will arrive today (Tuesday) at the site, while preparatory activities are being carried out in the Wadi Aniam area, which is subject to ownership claims.
"The planting serves as a tool to protect the land from encroachment and preserves the area from illegal construction, and is intended primarily to protect the national infrastructure of expanding Highway 6 southward — while the presence on the ground of official state representatives will effectively prevent any illegal encroachment, such as new illegal construction or grazing," said a source in the Ministry of National Security.
In response, the Council for Unrecognized Villages in the Negev stated:
"If it weren't for the provocation against the residents of the villages and the waste of public funds, we would laugh. The entire planting campaign is pathetically pathetic and has been failing for years. The 150,000 residents of the villages will not disappear because of a few dunams of woodland, which in all likelihood will not be planted anyway. Minister Ben Gvir is under campaign pressure, he has just dropped to seven mandates in the polls, because even coalition supporters know he is a huge failure in every field."
They further added: "After even the crocodiles bit his rear, he is left only with the illusion of 'governance' in the Negev. But like everything he touches, here too he only creates chaos and damage. Zero successes. All residents of the Negev, Jews and Arabs, deserve more successful ministers in charge than this media-obsessed clown."
Atiya al-A'asam, head of the Council for Unrecognized Villages in the Negev, also stated:
"What Ben Gvir is doing with these plantings is an election campaign provocation. His clear goal is to incite conflict between Arabs and Jews who live together. His entire goal is to talk about governance, while he fails where governance is needed: he failed in crime, he failed in protection rackets — in everything he needs to do for the benefit of the region. We hope for the benefit of the entire region, Jews and Arabs alike, that this person will disappear from the political map soon."
