He holds a Michelin star in Paris, leads a global restaurant empire, and is filming the new season of 'Chef Games' alongside Guy Gamzu and Yonatan Roshfeld. Yet for Asaf Granit, a busy schedule is only the beginning. The Jerusalem-born chef continues to break the mold, presenting a series of surprising steps that bridge the worlds of fashion, academia, and classic Israeli street food.

Those accustomed to seeing Granit in chef's whites or sharp attire might encounter him these days in the corridors of the Shenkar Academic College. The successful chef, who previously demonstrated his passion for the field by opening the fashion show for Bezalel graduates, has decided to take his interest a step further by enrolling in a course on the history of fashion. His new schedule now includes classes and exams, all while maintaining a close relationship with Li Ben Hamo, head of marketing communications at El Al.

Parallel to his studies and filming, the 'Machneyuda' group continues its trend of global and local expansion. Alongside the opening of a new pastry shop in Paris called Licouk and reports of advanced negotiations with the luxury conglomerate LVMH, the group is returning to its roots, bringing its meticulous touch to the heart of Israeli street food.

The group's latest project is a shawarma shop called 'Da Pita', located at 3 HaDekel Street in Jerusalem. The venue offers an upgraded street culinary experience, where the real innovation lies in the roasting method: unlike standard gas facilities, the meat is roasted on a traditional apparatus surrounded by smoldering coals, providing a smoky aroma and deep charred flavors.

The menu at 'Da Pita' features veal and chicken thigh shawarma, as well as handmade kebabs served in soft pitas with tahini, amba, greens, and fresh salads. The festive launch is scheduled for Sunday, August 9.
