Carasso Motors Achieves Record-Breaking Chery Launch in Austria
Carasso Motors' freesbe brand achieves a record-breaking launch for Chery in Austria, with 882 vehicles on the road since June 2026 and robust monthly growth.
Carasso Motors, operating under the freesbe brand, is reporting a highly successful launch of the Chery brand in Austria. Since its launch in June 2026, 882 vehicles have hit Austrian roads, making it the most successful launch of a Chinese automotive brand in Austria to date.
Sales Growth and Market Expansion
Sales volumes grew steadily month over month, reaching 268 vehicles in September, representing a nearly 60% increase compared to the previous month. The European operations are managed through freesbe's European subsidiary, marking the group's first major step into the European market.
Within just a few months, freesbe established a network of 19 active dealers across Austria, with additional dealerships preparing to open. The company also entered the local fleet market, securing major business clients including McDonald's and ARBÖ, Austria's leading roadside assistance organization.
Strategic Partnership and Future Growth
Carasso's acquisition of the Chery franchise in Austria builds on freesbe's successful rollout of the brand in Israel and the trust of Chery's global headquarters. Chery finished 2025 as the third-best-selling automotive brand in Israel.
"The successful launch of Chery in Europe is the first swallow of freesbe's expansion from Israel's largest mobility company into a global player," said Oren Elazra, Deputy CEO of Carasso Motors.
Austria was chosen for its central European location and high purchasing power, mirroring the scale of the Israeli market. The group aims to leverage this foothold for further regional expansion.
