A surprise in the official ballot for the Likud primaries: the name of MK Eliyahu Revivo is missing from the list of candidates. Knowledgeable sources claim that Revivo, who was preparing to run, finally decided not to enter the race.

Another name that does not appear on the form is MK Michel Buskila. Within the party, it is estimated that his absence may be related to the possibility that he will be reserved a spot on the Likud list for the Knesset, as reported in the past, but at this stage, no official confirmation has been provided.

As recalled, we reported earlier this week that in an attempt to calm the unrest in the Likud and thin the ranks ahead of the primaries, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met in recent days with several of the party's Knesset members, including Shalom Danino and Eliyahu Revivo.

As part of the meetings, Netanyahu is examining the possibility of offering the Knesset members a series of positions, including ambassadorial roles, with the goal of ensuring they do not run in the upcoming primaries. Such a move could reduce the number of candidates and clear space on the list for other Knesset members who fear they will be pushed to unrealistic spots and will not enter the next Knesset. The Likud chose not to respond to the matter.
