Moises Caicedo Finds Consistency at Chelsea Under Manager Xabi Alonso
Three years after joining Chelsea, midfielder Moises Caicedo is finding his best form under manager Xabi Alonso, anchoring the Blues ahead of a crucial London derby against Tottenham.
Three years after his high-profile transfer, Moises Caicedo is finally delivering the consistency Chelsea fans envisioned. Following a turbulent period marked by managerial changes and a disappointing 10th-place finish in the 2025/26 season, the arrival of manager Xabi Alonso has revitalized the Ecuadorian midfielder.
Alonso's appointment at Stamford Bridge has brought tactical stability. Caicedo's partnership with Jordan Henderson in central midfield has provided the essential balance needed to support an attacking lineup featuring Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro. Alonso praised the midfielder's work rate, highlighting his intensity and selflessness on the pitch.
Tonight, Chelsea will host Tottenham in a high-stakes London derby. Caicedo will face former Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi, setting the stage for a compelling tactical battle as the Blues look to maintain their positive momentum under Alonso.
