Bressler Slams Likud Candidates Following New Party Slates Approval

Shikma Bressler, a prominent leader of the anti-government protests, launched a sharp attack following the approval of the Likud party's reserved slots and the subsequent reactions. Bressler reacted strongly to statements made by Talyk Guetta, mother of fallen hostage Staff Sgt. Rani Guetta, who was reserved for the 9th slot. Upon joining, Guetta stated that if the opposing camp wins, the memory of the kingdom's heroes will vanish. In a scathing response, Bressler declared, "We will remove the government of malice from the land." The confrontation erupted shortly after the Likud secretariat approved Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's slate of reserved candidates. The party praised Guetta's strength and her son's heroism, who fell on October 7 and whose body was later recovered in a special operation, but her comments targeting the rival political camp sparked widespread anger. Alongside Guetta in the 9th slot, the approved reserved candidates include Yaakov Bardugo (11th), Elisha Madan (15th), Adv. David Peter (16th), Eli Goldschmidt (26th), and Itzik Bonzel (29th). Drama unfolded around Brig. Gen. (res.) Amir Avivi, who was slated for the 35th position but decided to decline his spot on the list. In response, Netanyahu declared during the secretariat meeting that Avivi will serve as an external minister.
