Good news for thousands of Israelis: How to earn up to 3,000 shekels in one day

The Central Elections Committee has announced a large-scale recruitment drive starting August 3, seeking thousands of workers for a wide range of positions ahead of the upcoming elections.

According to a report by Daphna Liel, a political correspondent for Channel 12 News, 35,000 people will be recruited as polling station secretaries, with a salary ranging from 2,700 to 3,000 shekels.

The workday begins at 06:30 and ends upon the conclusion of the vote count.

An additional 14,000 election integrity inspectors will be recruited with a salary of 2,300 shekels. A primary condition for these roles is that candidates must not have been members of any political party within the last three years. Furthermore, tens of thousands more will be recruited by Israeli political parties to serve as their representatives at polling stations.

Last week, the Director General of the Employment Service and the Acting Director General of the Central Elections Committee met to facilitate the recruitment process. They agreed to prioritize individuals with disabilities, those evacuated due to the security situation, and those injured in recent combat operations. Recruitment for thousands of additional roles, including ushers, logistics personnel, and technical support, will begin in a week.

"The election system relies first and foremost on the people who operate it on the ground. Our cooperation with the Employment Service is a significant pillar in the national effort to recruit tens of thousands of workers. We are working to ensure that every polling station is staffed with professional, skilled personnel, so that every citizen can exercise their right to vote in a proper and reliable manner."
