IDF Tracker Shoots and Captures Terrorist Who Killed Israeli Father Near Binyamin

A tracker from the Binyamin Brigade shot and wounded a terrorist who killed Netanel Chay Shukron at the Ein Riya spring, saving the victim's 16-year-old son who was present during the attack. The terrorist, 37-year-old Hamas operative Qadri Samara, scouted the area a day before the shooting, taking advantage of civilians visiting the spring ahead of Yom Kippur. Following the attack, IDF forces raided the town of Biddu, northwest of Jerusalem, where the terrorist resided. Palestinians reported that about 50 people were detained in a local home seized by the military.
An initial investigation revealed the terrorist acted alone. He arrived by vehicle near the spring adjacent to the settlement of Neve Tzuf in Binyamin, and opened fire on the car of Netanel Chay Shukron, a 42-year-old father of six from Alei Zahav. His eldest son, who was in the vehicle, was uninjured. The terrorist was captured at a clinic in Ramallah following a manhunt. He fled to the clinic wounded after the tracker, stationed nearby in an armored vehicle, returned fire. Duvdevan commandos apprehended him in his bed.
Netanel Chay Shukron, an IT systems analyst at Hachshara Insurance, leaves behind his wife Meirav and six children, ranging from a high school junior to a four-year-old. His funeral is scheduled for 11:00 PM. Residents of Alei Zahav eulogized him as a modest, humble man and a devoted father. The community expressed deep sorrow and pledged full support to the grieving family.
