Benjamin Netanyahu on "Plan B" if arrested abroad: "We have special forces"
In an interview with Fox News, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed concerns regarding potential arrest during an emergency landing abroad amid an international warrant. He mentioned the readiness of special forces and criticized the International Criminal Court in The Hague.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded in an interview with Fox News to questions regarding potential arrest risks if forced to make an emergency landing in a foreign country.
"We have special forces in the vicinity, I served with them for five years. Let's give them a new mission," he stated.
Interviewer Sean Hannity asked if the Prime Minister was concerned about the possibility of landing in a country that recognizes the International Criminal Court (ICC) due to a medical emergency. When asked by Hannity about a "Plan B," Netanyahu referred to the special forces, with Hannity noting the IDF's tough reputation.
Netanyahu further criticized the international system, describing it as a "corrupt body" and an "unelected bureaucracy" sitting in The Hague.
"They can say that the President of the USA is a war criminal, that American soldiers who are fighting shoulder-to-shoulder with us against the Iranian regime are war criminals. They can arrest them," Netanyahu asserted.
The discussion followed reports regarding Netanyahu's medical condition, after his office revealed in April that he underwent treatment for an early-stage prostate cancer.
"On December 29, 2024, the Prime Minister underwent surgical treatment for a benign enlargement of the prostate. The procedure went successfully and without any complications. In an MRI scan performed as part of routine follow-up, a tiny focus, less than a centimeter, with suspicious characteristics was demonstrated," the medical report noted.
According to the report, further examination confirmed an early stage of prostate cancer without metastases. The Prime Minister opted for a short and focused radiation treatment.
