Benny Gantz on Netanyahu: "He is a smart man, I am not willing to hate him"
Benny Gantz explained why, despite past grievances and harsh criticism of the Prime Minister, he refuses to act out of hatred and prefers to appeal to an audience that seeks to maintain principles and look forward.
Benny Gantz, chairman of the Blue and White party, was a guest on the podcast "Lech Techapes" ("Go Look") from the All In network, hosted by actor Yossi Marshak, where he shared his perspective on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Addressing a question that concerns many voters, Gantz admitted that he feels respect for the Prime Minister, despite his long-standing disagreement with the policies he has led for years:
"He is a smart man, Israel is dear to him. I have known him for enough years."
Marshak, known for his sharp criticism of the government, sought to challenge the veteran politician: "Do you really think so? Don't you think he is more dear to himself than Israel?"
Gantz replied that he does not believe in the path of hatred, but rather in changing the reality in the State of Israel through respectful discourse:
"I think he is more dear to himself than Israel, and I think he should finish his role. However, I am not willing to hate him. Among politicians, I have the longest list of reasons to criticize him, but I am not willing to hate him."
Finally, Gantz delivered a clear message to the Israeli public:
"Whoever wants a political schemer should not vote for me. Whoever wants a radical who fights to the extremes, even at the price of hating others, I am not that person. But whoever is not willing to hate and is ready to uphold principles while looking forward, I invite them to join me."
