However, his party, "Otzma Yehudit", has no intention of relinquishing its grip on one of the most influential and volatile ministries in the country.
According to a report by Boaz Golan on Channel 14, the coalition demand is already being formulated for future negotiations. Insiders noted that while Ben Gvir himself seeks to step down from the ministerial seat, the portfolio must remain under the control of "Otzma Yehudit".
Ben Gvir's tenure has been marked by continuous political storms, including direct clashes with police leadership, fierce budget battles with the Ministry of Finance, and ongoing legal friction with the Attorney General's office. The heavy burden and political complexity have apparently led to the decision to entrust the portfolio to another representative from his faction in the next term.
Meanwhile, ahead of the 26th Knesset elections, "Otzma Yehudit" registered as two separate entities—"Otzma Yehudit" and related factions—to maximize state public funding, a move estimated to yield an additional 1.2 million shekels annually.
