Ben Gvir intervenes in Likud primaries: "I call on you to vote for her"

Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir published a video today, Monday, supporting Gila Gamliel in the primaries:

"Likud members, I call on you to vote for Gila Gamliel — a woman of soul. I sit with her in the cabinet. I know how important it is to her and how much love for Israel burns in her."

Later, he also called to vote for Minister May Golan, emphasizing:

"May is a dear friend, and I have known her for many years. I know how much the sense of mission burns in her blood. She brings with her a groundbreaking voice of truth. Facing a crazy campaign of slander and persecution, and facing incessant attempts to bring her down and silence her — she continues to hold her head high and fight without fear."

Meanwhile, about 140,000 Likud members went to the polls this morning across the country to determine the composition of the party's list for the next Knesset. According to data published by our political correspondent Motti Kastel, as of the last update, about 14,307 voters had cast their ballots, compared to about 12,339 who had voted by the same time in the 2022 primaries.

Jerusalem recorded the highest voting figures: by 11:15, 564 members had voted in the city. The voting is taking place at polling stations from Eilat to Kiryat Shmona and is expected to continue until 21:00. Preliminary results are expected around 23:00, and the official picture should become clear during Tuesday.

Benjamin Netanyahu refrained from publishing a general list of recommendations, but expressed official support for Knesset member Almog Cohen and district candidates Erez Tadmor and Adv. Shlomo Lerner. Today, Osnat Zohar, who is running for the new woman's slot in Likud, also joined the list.
