Bat Yam Man Indicted for Knife Attack and Bribery Attempt in Tel Aviv
A 29-year-old Bat Yam resident was indicted for assaulting a driver with punches and a knife in Tel Aviv following a road dispute, and later offering money to avoid police involvement.
The Tel Aviv District Police Prosecution Unit filed an indictment and requested the detention until the end of legal proceedings of a 29-year-old resident of Bat Yam following a violent road rage incident. The attack took place on September 11 on Yesod HaMa'ala Street in Tel Aviv, where officers from the Sheurat police station arrested the suspect.
According to the investigation, the confrontation began after a brief dispute over the right of way. The suspect exited his vehicle and assaulted another driver with punches and a knife, knocking him to the ground and continuing to strike him despite attempts by bystanders to intervene. The victim sustained injuries requiring medical treatment.
Following the assault, the suspect offered the victim money in an attempt to persuade him not to file a police complaint. Police arrived at the scene following a report to the 100 emergency hotline and subsequently arrested the suspect. His detention was extended periodically until the formal indictment was filed.
