Police Seize Drugs Worth 90 Million NIS in Major Raid in Ahismakh
Israeli police seized drugs worth 90 million NIS in Ahismakh, arresting three suspects in one of the largest trafficking busts in recent years.
Police raided a compound in the moshav of Ahismakh, which allegedly served as a major distribution center for a large-scale drug trafficking network. Officers seized a vehicle loaded with large quantities of dangerous drugs intended for distribution, with an estimated market value of approximately 90 million NIS. This is considered one of the most significant and largest drug busts seen in recent years.
Three suspects in their 20s, residents of central Israel, were arrested for their involvement in managing and distributing the drugs, and are being interrogated by the central interrogation unit of the Jerusalem District Police. The Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court extended their remand until September 23.
Among the drugs seized were about 94 kilograms of suspected cocaine, roughly 39 kilograms of suspected ecstasy tablets, about 25 kilograms of suspected MDMA, 298 vials of ketamine, 158 grams of suspected 'dosa', 5 vials of LSD, and over a kilogram of various loose dangerous drugs.
In a separate significant raid last week, officers from the Ayarot police station and National Guard fighters intercepted a vehicle on Route 40, seizing about 2 kilograms of suspected crystal methamphetamine with an estimated value of 3 million NIS. Four foreign nationals from Thailand, in their 30s and 40s, were arrested at the scene and transferred along with the exhibits for further questioning.
