Barak Abramov in the crosshairs again: "Damage of hundreds of millions"
The wave of attacks against the businessman continues. Despite mediation attempts, tempers have not cooled, and tonight another branch of the Japanika chain was targeted. The Israel Police have opened an investigation.
In recent days, the country has witnessed a series of violent incidents involving the use of stun grenades and weaponry against various businesses. A significant portion of these attacks is directed against branches of the Japanika chain, owned by Barak Abramov, owner of Beitar Jerusalem.
To date, dozens of violent incidents—including arson and grenade attacks—have been recorded against the chain's branches nationwide. The economic damage caused to Abramov is immense and estimated at hundreds of millions of shekels.
Tonight (Sunday), a further escalation occurred when perpetrators threw a fragmentation grenade at a new Japanika branch under construction in Hadera. No casualties were reported.
"Police officers from the Hadera station and sappers arrived at the scene and began investigative actions and the collection of evidence. The background to the incident is criminal and the circumstances are under investigation," the police stated.
Recently, it appeared that tensions had subsided following a multi-million shekel mediation effort, as reported by Channel 12, involving a prominent figure from the football world acting as a mediator between the Jarushi and Musli families.
Last week, the Israel Police announced a breakthrough in the investigation, arresting a 28-year-old resident of Kiryat Ata, who was subsequently remanded in custody. A few days later, another suspect was arrested in connection with the arson of a different branch.
