A mathematics lecturer at Bar-Ilan University has been indicted for plotting a series of terror attacks against hundreds of Arabs. The academic, a resident of Petah Tikva in his 60s, was arrested on September 17 following a joint operation by the Shin Bet and the Central District Police.

The "OIT" Terror Plot

According to the indictment, the lecturer formulated a plan dubbed "OIT" (an acronym for "Am Yaseh Transfer"). The blueprint involved recruiting 71 Jewish operatives, dividing them into 12 cells, and launching simultaneous surprise attacks on mixed cities, Arab communities, and Bedouin localities across the country and in the West Bank. The stated objective was to murder hundreds of individuals and drive the population out.

Students described the lecturer as a rigid, distant, and peculiar figure who frequently taught via Zoom and communicated in a harsh tone. Colleagues expressed profound shock and condemnation, noting that the university has suspended him indefinitely.

"The university condemns and is horrified by the acts attributed to the lecturer in the indictment. The administration calls on law enforcement to exhaust the full extent of the law," Bar-Ilan University stated.
