A bottle containing a flammable liquid was found at the entrance of a restaurant on Kalisher Street in Tel Aviv, police reported on Sunday morning. The bottle was attached to the entrance with a string and was discovered by the business owner. Police were called to the scene to collect evidence and have opened an investigation.

Using technological means, investigators were able to identify the suspect within a few hours. In a targeted operation in the Tel Aviv area, officers from the Lev Tel Aviv station and YASAM unit arrested the suspect, a Jaffa resident in his 20s, and transferred him for questioning.

The suspect was brought before the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court, which extended his detention until August 3, 2026.

This incident follows a series of recent grenade-throwing events. On Sunday morning, a fragmentation grenade was thrown at a commercial complex in Hadera. Police are investigating whether the target was a branch of the Japanika chain currently under construction. This incident adds to a series of attacks against the chain's branches, which are suspected to be linked to a conflict between criminal organizations.
