About a week after her home in Havat Gilad was destroyed by fire, terror widow Yael Shevach continues to demonstrate strength and Jewish pride in the face of adversity. She has invited the people of Israel to celebrate the housewarming of her new home on Tu B'Av 5788.
In a post published on social media this Monday, reflecting the faith that sustains her even after the disaster, Shevach wrote: "Good morning. Mark it down. Tu B'Av 5788. Housewarming of the Shevach family in Havat Gilad. This is an open invitation to everyone."
The fire, which broke out last week in Havat Gilad, left the Shevach family homeless. Among the items lost were personal mementos and valuables belonging to her late husband, Rabbi Raziel Shevach (may God avenge his blood), who was murdered in a shooting attack near the settlement in 2018.
Moments after losing her home, Shevach shared her grief: "The house is gone. We are okay, thank you all for the concern. I have nothing to say." She later added: "I am not comfortable. I want to curl up in the ashes that were once my bed."
