After 9 years: A beloved secret bar in Tel Aviv is closing its doors
One of Tel Aviv's most unique entertainment venues, which operated behind a hidden door accessible only via a daily code, has announced the end of its journey on Rothschild Boulevard.
The bar-restaurant "Clavis," located at 6 Rothschild Boulevard in Tel Aviv, has announced it is closing its doors. For nine years, the venue operated behind a hidden entrance, becoming one of the city's most cherished nightlife spots.
It was one of the most unique bars in Israel, accessible only by a daily code passed by word of mouth or sent exclusively to club members.
In a heartfelt farewell message posted on their Instagram page, the team wrote:
"Warning — high amounts of love! They say that every secret door is destined to close one day. Who knew, right at the beginning 9 years ago, that this would happen after so many laughs, toasts, and friendships that started in our living room and are still with us today? We created stories that no one is supposed to remember… with people we will never want to forget."
Over the past nine years, "Clavis" became much more than just another cocktail bar; it was a home. It was a place where first dates turned into marriages, friends became family, and strangers raised glasses, changing their lives forever.
"We are ending this journey exactly as we lived it: with a big smile, a cocktail in hand, and a heart full of gratitude. The team invites everyone to join them over the next two weeks for a drink, a dance, and a final hug at 6 Rothschild. "Once a Clavis Member, Always a Clavis Member," they conclude, bidding farewell to a venue that transformed from a pop-up into a true legend.
