Apple iPhone 18 Standard Model Expected to Face Price Hike in 2027
Apple's upcoming standard iPhone 18, slated for early 2027, is expected to feature a price hike, a 2nm A20 chip, and a larger battery, amid rising RAM costs.

Apple is preparing to expand its smartphone lineup with the standard iPhone 18, slated for release in the first quarter of 2027. According to leaks from industry tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the upcoming base model is expected to feature a price increase driven by rising RAM component costs.
The new device is anticipated to bring notable hardware upgrades, including a larger battery capacity and a next-generation A20 processor built on an advanced 2-nanometer manufacturing process. However, reports indicate that the smaller Dynamic Island cutout will remain exclusive to the higher-end Pro and Pro Max variants.
The standard iPhone 18 launch is expected to coincide with the introduction of the ultra-thin iPhone Air 2 and the budget-friendly iPhone 18e. This anticipated price adjustment follows earlier industry trends where Apple, Google, and Samsung raised device prices by $100 due to supply chain pressures and component shortages.
