Israeli Cybersecurity Startup Sentra Secures $150 Million in Series C Funding Led by Capital One
Israeli cybersecurity firm Sentra has secured $150 million in a Series C funding round led by Capital One Ventures, pushing its total capital raised past $250 million amid surging demand for AI security solutions.

Israeli cybersecurity startup Sentra has announced the completion of a $150 million Series C funding round led by Capital One Ventures. This brings the total capital raised by the firm since its inception to over $250 million. The investment arrives amid surging enterprise adoption of artificial intelligence agents and the growing necessity to secure the data to which these systems are exposed.
While withholding its current valuation and revenue figures, Sentra reports an annual growth rate of 300%. According to PitchBook data, the company was valued at approximately $205 million during its previous $50 million funding round. In an interview with local media, Sentra co-founder and CEO Yoav Regev noted that the company's valuation has increased significantly, though management chose not to disclose the specific figure. He projected that future fundraising cycles could accelerate given the rapid expansion of the global market.
The financing round was spearheaded by Capital One Ventures, with continued participation from existing backers including Bessemer Venture Partners, investor Oren Zeev, 01 Advisors, Standard Investments, Munich Re Ventures, and Key1 Capital. As part of the transaction, a Capital One representative will join Sentra's board of directors.
Founded in 2021 by four cybersecurity veterans, Sentra employs 130 people, with 65 based in Tel Aviv. CEO Yoav Regev previously served for 25 years in Unit 8200, heading its cyber center; President Asaf Kochan is a former commander of Unit 8200; Chief Technology Officer Ron Reiter managed Oracle's Tel Aviv development center; and Chief Product Officer Yair Cohen held senior roles at Microsoft and Datadog. Regev relocated to New York a year after the company's founding to spearhead its operations in the United States market.
Sentra develops a cloud-native platform designed to help organizations map their data repositories, locate sensitive information, and manage access permissions. With the proliferation of generative artificial intelligence, this challenge has grown increasingly complex, as autonomous AI agents access databases, execute system workflows, and make independent decisions often utilizing overly broad permissions.
"If I have to choose one headline for Sentra and why artificial intelligence accelerates our growth, it is that artificial intelligence is fundamentally a data problem," Regev told the press. "We are talking about hundreds of thousands of agents running across organizations, autonomous systems making decisions, and environments that are virtually uncontrolled. The only way to manage this chaos is to first control the data." The platform is engineered to identify sensitive data, mitigate excessive access privileges, and detect anomalous behavior by AI agents, automatically revoking permissions when necessary to prevent data leaks.
Sentra intends to deploy the new capital to expand its research and development operations, recruit global talent, and scale its sales and marketing infrastructure. The company plans to strengthen its foothold in Europe, particularly in London, driven by stringent regional data regulations and rising demand for security solutions.
