Apple CEO John Ternus Shakes Up Management with Deep Focus on Product Design

Apple's design studio has a regular guest: new CEO John Ternus. According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, since taking office in September, Ternus has been dedicating a significant portion of his time to designing the company's products and interfaces, visiting the studio multiple times a week.

This frequency highlights a stark contrast in management style compared to Tim Cook. While the previous CEO spent about an hour a month at the studio, Ternus actively integrates into the work of industrial design and user interface teams, making it a top priority.

His relationship with designers began well before taking the reins, as he previously headed Apple hardware engineering. Now, as CEO, his involvement has deepened significantly, shifting focus towards product creation while leaving finance to CFO Kevan Park and supply chain to COO Sabih Khan.
