Revolut Steps Up Israeli Market Entry With Core Banking Job Openings
British fintech giant Revolut is accelerating its entry into Israel by hiring for core banking roles like credit and compliance, aiming to challenge the local banking sector.

British fintech giant Revolut is stepping up its preparations to enter the Israeli market by publishing a wave of job openings tailored for local employees. A significant portion of these roles focuses on the core banking operations, including credit, regulation, risk management, debt collection, anti-money laundering, and operations.
Among the positions advertised for the Israeli market are credit product managers, banking operations managers, collection managers, and compliance roles. This hiring composition offers a glimpse into how Revolut is preparing for local activity. While hiring marketing or business development personnel would primarily indicate commercial preparations, many of the current roles relate to the control and infrastructure systems that a regulated financial entity is required to operate.
For instance, in one compliance role, Revolut demands deep familiarity with the Bank of Israel proper banking management directives, Israeli consumer protection and privacy laws, and experience working with risk and compliance systems. This move aligns with Revolut's effort to obtain a license that will allow it to significantly expand its operations in Israel.
Back in June 2025, it was revealed that Revolut was in talks with the Bank of Israel to obtain a license under a "lean bank" framework, which would allow it, among other things, to offer deposits and compete with local banks. The company also hired Uri Nathan, former CEO of Pepper, to lead its operations in Israel. Revolut will enter the Israeli market and attempt to compete with local banks in a highly concentrated sector dominated by five major banks.
Revolut is no longer just a small payment application. The company currently notes that it serves more than 80 million customers and employs over 13,000 workers worldwide. Its representative office in Israel has not yet set a definitive launch date.
