Apple Unveils AirPods 5 With Active Noise Cancellation and AI Features
Apple unveiled the AirPods 5 featuring active noise cancellation, AI translation tools, and improved IP57 durability at starting prices of $129 and $149.

Apple introduced its new AirPods 5 during its latest product event, bringing active noise cancellation (ANC) and artificial intelligence features to the base model without raising prices.
ANC and Adaptive Audio for the Base Model
The new AirPods 5 maintain their familiar open-ear design while introducing active noise cancellation (ANC), a feature previously reserved for Pro and higher-tier models. Apple reports that a new acoustic architecture and improved software reduce background noise by 50% compared to previous generations. The device also features a Transparency mode and Adaptive Audio, which automatically balances noise cancellation and ambient sound based on the user's environment. Durability has been upgraded to an IP57 rating for better sweat and water resistance.
Battery Life and Pricing
The base model of the AirPods 5 is priced at $129, offering up to 4 hours of listening time with ANC active and up to 20 hours total with the charging case.
Apple also announced an upgraded version priced at $149, which provides up to 5 hours of battery life with ANC enabled, touch controls on the stem for volume adjustment, and a wireless charging case supporting up to 22 hours of total playback.
