Cybersecurity Startup Cymphony Secures $30M in Funding Led by Sequoia Capital
Cybersecurity startup Cymphony has raised $30 million in funding led by Sequoia Capital and Fin Capital. The company protects enterprise networks by securing autonomous AI agents and sensitive data.

Cybersecurity startup Cymphony has announced the completion of a total $30 million funding round. The total consists of a $25 million Series A round co-led by Sequoia Capital and Fin Capital, alongside a previous $5 million Seed round led by Sequoia Capital.
Founded about four years ago, the company currently employs approximately 23 people at its offices in Israel and the United States. The raised capital will be allocated toward expanding development and sales operations, as well as establishing a stronger foothold in the US market and other global regions.
Founders and the Organizational Challenge
Cymphony was founded by Shay Dekel (CEO), Idan Berkovitz (Chief Product Officer), and Eddie Gottlieb (CTO) — all three graduates of the elite Talpiot program. Dekel served as head of the cyber department in Unit 8200, Berkovitz served as a research group manager at the Prime Minister's Office, and Gottlieb worked as an engineer at Apple and in various technological roles within the Israeli defense establishment.
The company's establishment was driven by shifts in organizational work patterns, increasingly characterized by the integration of AI tools and autonomous agents. These tools are granted access permissions to systems and sensitive data, operating on behalf of employees. This situation creates a distinct risk of exposing confidential corporate data — such as payroll folders and bonuses — to entities or systems that should not have visibility.
«The integration of autonomous AI agents into enterprise workflows creates unprecedented visibility and access control challenges regarding sensitive corporate data.»
The Cymphony Platform
Cymphony’s platform bridges identity management with enterprise data governance. The system continuously maps employees and AI agents, providing a clear picture of actual access to information across the corporate network. Alongside risk identification, the platform includes automated remediation recommendation mechanisms, allowing actions to be executed automatically or routed to the relevant human authority within the organization.
The growing need for security solutions tailored to autonomous agents coincides with broader industry trends: Microsoft's Work Trend Index highlights a rise in teams combining human workers and AI agents. Conversely, research firm Gartner estimates that approximately 40% of organizations are likely to scale back or halt their use of autonomous AI agents by 2027 due to control and corporate governance challenges. Currently, Cymphony’s platform is deployed across several major organizations, including KKR, Syngenta, and Cass Information Systems.
