Anthropic, the developer of the artificial intelligence model Claude, has filed its initial public offering (IPO) documents, revealing the executive compensation structure ahead of its anticipated market debut. According to the filings, CEO and co-founder Dario Amodei earned approximately $18 million in 2025, while his sister, President Daniela Amodei, earned $16.4 million.

Compensation Structure and Stock Options

According to a Reuters report, the majority of their compensation does not stem from cash base salary, but rather from stock and option grants, some of which are contingent upon remaining with the company and completing the IPO. Last July, the annual base salary for both siblings was doubled to $1.4 million.

Anthropic is preparing for a public stock exchange listing as early as this coming autumn, targeting an estimated market capitalization of over $2 trillion. However, the reported annual salary of tech giants' founders does not necessarily reflect the total wealth accumulated through their equity holdings. For comparison, Google's Sundar Pichai earned approximately $213.9 million under the "compensation actually paid" metric following shifts in his stock values.

Philanthropic Commitments and Market Outlook

Similarly, in Anthropic's case, exact founder holdings are not yet fully detailed in the published documents, making the $18 million salary only part of the broader financial picture. Holdings value could reach tens of billions of dollars if the company goes public at the projected valuation.

"The Amodei siblings and co-founders have committed to dedicating 80% of their personal equity capital to philanthropic causes."

This pledge, alongside the compensation structure, is expected to reinforce the company's socially responsible branding amidst broader industry criticisms regarding excessive wealth generation in the artificial intelligence sector.

The upcoming public offering at a valuation exceeding $2 trillion highlights soaring market expectations for leading AI companies, positioning Anthropic alongside the world's largest technology powerhouses.
