Angelina Jolie Highlights Gaza Destruction Using Satellite Imagery
Oscar-winning actress Angelina Jolie published satellite images of the Gaza Strip on Instagram, highlighting widespread destruction and urging immediate humanitarian aid.
Hollywood star and Oscar winner Angelina Jolie published an Instagram post sharing recent satellite images of the Gaza Strip, highlighting the widespread destruction visible on Google Earth. "You can now open Google Earth and see what has been done to Gaza. Entire neighborhoods have been destroyed," she wrote.
Satellite Data and Humanitarian Crisis
Jolie noted that a United Nations satellite analysis shows 82 percent of structures in Gaza were damaged as of June 16, 2026. With winter approaching, approximately 1.98 million people require shelter assistance and essential items, while humanitarian aid continues to face severe restrictions.
The destruction is visible. The needs are known. What matters now is whether they are met.
Previous Stances and Humanitarian Activism
The actress tagged the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and the INARA aid organization in her post, without explicitly mentioning Israel or the ongoing military conflict. Jolie has previously voiced criticism regarding the military campaign in Gaza and visited the Egyptian side of the Rafah border crossing earlier in January.
