Anan Khalaili returned to training with Union Saint-Gilloise on Thursday after his transfer to Inter was cancelled. As recalled, the Italian champion had already agreed on a deal to purchase the Israel national team player for approximately 30 million euros (including bonuses), but a rigorous examination by the Italian Olympic Committee prevented the signing, even though he had already passed the club's medical examinations.

"I returned to training quickly to prepare for what awaits me. I feel in shape and happy to be on the pitch. I am always focused on my career and I believe in it. I will always do my best, and I feel good, healthy, in perfect shape. I am ready to play and train hard to give 100 percent. I played 99 games in the last two years and almost always played 90 minutes. I feel very good," said Khalaili.

21-year-old Khalaili joined the Belgian club Union Saint-Gilloise from Maccabi Haifa in the summer of 2024 for about 7.5 million euros. He established himself as one of the most promising wingers in Europe after winning the Belgian championship and appearing in the Champions League, attracting interest from the continent's biggest teams.

The Israel national team player provided six goals and six assists in the past season across 52 matches in all competitions for Union Saint-Gilloise. Three of his goals came in the Champions League — a brace against Marseille and a winning goal against Atalanta.
