Former MK Abir Kara Decides Not to Run in Upcoming Knesset Elections

Former Member of Knesset Abir Kara announced that he will not run in the upcoming parliamentary elections. In a post on social media platform X, Kara stated that his decision followed a "serious and lengthy examination."

According to Kara, he could not find a political framework with the necessary determination to truly shift the country's course. He emphasized that Israel requires a "total restart" across its society, economy, and governance.

Among his key proposals, Kara called for:

• A lean and efficient government with half the current number of ministries;

• Reforms to lower the cost of living;

• Reduction of taxes and regulatory burdens;

• A free and competitive economy.

Kara also addressed the law enforcement system, calling for a stronger police force and judiciary to combat organized crime. In education, he advocated for a flexible and creative system.

Regarding his decision to step back from the legislative race, Kara wrote:

"For me, the Knesset has always been a means and never a goal. I am simply not ready at this stage to enter the Knesset for a seat, a title, or a salary."

He concluded by stating that he will continue his public advocacy outside the parliament to build the necessary public support for future reforms.
