3 months before launch: It seems a copy of GTA 6 has leaked online

While we are all waiting with bated breath for GTA VI, which is supposed to reach us in exactly 90 days, and after trailers, pre-orders, and even a preview event for the game that will be presented first on Netflix, it seems that someone, without a Rockstar employee badge, has already managed to get their hands on the highly anticipated title.

It seems that Rockstar Games simply cannot stop the leaks surrounding its game, a phenomenon that began back in 2022, long before the official announcement. In the last day, four new videos have appeared online showing content that Rockstar has not yet revealed. The company managed with great effort to remove the first three videos, but the fourth video, which also turned out to be the most interesting, is still available.

In the fourth video, a plane is seen flying over a city — most likely Vice City — and showing in significant detail the areas where we will be able to play starting November 19, the game's launch date. However, another intriguing detail was hidden in that same video (alongside the radio stations that are replaced there): Jason Duval, one of the two protagonists of the game, is seen shooting a rifle at a wall. So far, nothing special, but Jason's shots form the word Leek — a direct reference to the CyberLeek group, which is behind the leak. That is, assuming it is not a good AI job or some mod, this video signals that the group has access not only to gameplay videos that were stored on an unsecured server, but most likely access to a copy of the new game.

It is important to note that it seems the leakers only have partial access to the game. The EuroGamer website even had to apologize after mistakenly reporting that the group possessed a full copy, a report based on statements from an impostor group. The original leakers noted that since the videos were uploaded, their site has been taken down, but they continue to operate through a Telegram channel that serves as an insurance policy for them.

The reason for publishing the videos now is not entirely clear, and according to estimates, it may be a protest against Rockstar's decision to launch the game in a digital-only copy, although CyberLeek did not explicitly state this. So far, Rockstar has not officially responded to the new leak.
