Yaniv Moalem

Yaniv Moalem, convicted of running a fictitious invoice network that cost the state 65 million shekels, has been extradited from Panama. He had previously fled Israel to avoid a 10-year prison sentence.

One fled at the last moment to Panama, the other escaped to Israel after the "scam of the century": a dramatic weekend at Ben Gurion Airport ended with two major extraditions. Patrick Bellaiche boarded a flight to Paris to serve a prison sentence for a 280 million euro scam; Efraim Yaniv Moalem was brought from Panama directly to court.
