On paper, it is an almost impossible fantasy: a city built in length and height rather than space, with one straight and long street that leads from end to end and reaches everywhere. But on the way to reality, economic constraints and the war with Iran have erected an perhaps insurmountable barrier to the realization of the futuristic Saudi vision.
