After the rare system mostly bypassed Israel, rain was documented overnight and in the early morning hours along the coastal plain and in the center. In northern Tel Aviv, 7.9 mm of rain fell. Today, temperatures will rise slightly and it will be partly cloudy.

Extreme rainfall is expected starting the night between Saturday and Sunday. A slight drop in temperatures begins today, with the first rains arriving tomorrow. Thunderstorms are forecast for the north, and there is a risk of flooding on the coastal plain due to the intensity of the precipitation.

A sharp change in weather over the weekend: starting Saturday night, widespread rain, thunderstorms, and hail are expected. 20–30 mm may fall on the coast within a few hours, potentially breaking the historical rainfall record for August.

Today there will be another slight rise in temperatures, which will be higher than usual, and extreme heat will be felt in large areas. On Friday some relief is expected, but on Saturday it will warm up again, and towards night local rain is expected in the north and center, alongside thunderstorms.

The rain event that occurred more than a week ago was not the last: the Meteorological Service predicts more rain at the beginning of next week, which may break seasonal records. "Two rain events in August are extremely unusual and even unprecedented," the service reported.

Rain began falling in Jerusalem and the north this afternoon; there is a continued risk of flash floods in the Judean Desert and the Dead Sea. Swimming at Achziv Beach is prohibited due to dangerous sea conditions.

The Meteorological Service has issued a severe early warning for tomorrow (Monday), citing an extremely high fire index in vast areas across the country. According to the official announcement, there is a real concern for rapid ignition due to expected weather conditions, with warnings divided into risk levels based on geographical areas and specific time ranges.

An urgent notice published this morning warns of heavy and particularly severe heat loads in several central areas of the country, with temperatures in some cities already climbing above 40 degrees.
