On paper, Nir Barkat has everything needed to succeed in politics, just as he did in business. A successful entrepreneur and former mayor of Jerusalem, he holds a solid right-wing economic worldview. Yet, despite years within Likud and significant resources invested in grassroots outreach, Barkat remains perceived as a temporary resident within the party.
