IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir has renewed his harsh criticism of the government's push for a law preventing the arrest of ultra-Orthodox deserters. Zamir stated that the political echelon ignored repeated warnings from the IDF and instructed his staff to monitor developments, a move interpreted as a directive for police to assist the Military Police in making arrests.
