Acquittal

The woman claimed to the police that her husband threatened to strangle her, burn her, and slit her throat. In the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court, she admitted that she had exaggerated in her complaint. The judge refused to accept photographic evidence due to concerns about the use of artificial intelligence and ruled for a full acquittal.

Following her arrest in April during an operation against a network of shell companies and the subsequent confiscation of her passport, Romy Abergel announced her acquittal and the return of her documents: "A 4-month ordeal comes to an end."

A Magistrate Court judge acquitted a defendant who used his ex-girlfriend's credit card for 33 car rentals, ruling that the prosecution failed to prove criminal intent beyond a reasonable doubt.

The court determined that although the policewoman's testimony was reliable, it was not proven beyond a reasonable doubt that she identified the correct person. The judge criticized the identification performed in retrospect using a photo in the police system and the investigation's shortcomings.
