Abu Mazen

According to a report in the Jerusalem Post, the Trump administration intends to deny entry visas to New York to Abu Mazen and his senior officials again this year, despite mediation attempts by Erdogan; the PA Chairman is expected to address the UN General Assembly from Ramallah.

The Minister of Finance called on the Prime Minister to take advantage of Abu Mazen's visit to Turkey to ban his re-entry into the West Bank. In response, a senior official in the Authority claims that this is election propaganda by the right, but warns that a series of Israeli measures is intended to bring about the collapse of the Authority.

A senior Fatah official expressed uncertainty regarding the upcoming elections in the Palestinian Authority. He argued that reaching a consensus on the PA Chairman is essential to bolster internal legitimacy.
