Women complained about the doctor - the health fund still refers patients to him
About four years ago, complaints were raised against Dr. Guy Bibi by several women. Clalit Health Services, where he is employed, is working to bring about his dismissal, but in the meantime, it still allows him to take appointments, despite complaints of inappropriate behavior of a sexual nature. Bibi's attorney: 'Alongside the complaints, there are many women who thank him for his care.'
Patients at Clalit Health Services were surprised to discover recently that the health fund's service center continues to refer women to gynecologist Dr. Guy Bibi, who operates in Tel Aviv. Over the past four years, complaints have been filed against Dr. Bibi regarding inappropriate behavior of a sexual nature towards patients, yet he continues to receive appointments from the health fund.
Previously, an investigation published by Kan 11 contained testimonies regarding the doctor's problematic conduct. One woman recounted that after she cried following a medical examination, Dr. Bibi hugged her and pressed his face against her while she was naked from the waist down. In another documented case, the doctor arrived at a patient's home after offering to deliver medication and kissed her there.
Despite these testimonies and complaints, the Clalit call center continues to offer Dr. Bibi's services. In a test call, an operator confirmed that the doctor is seeing clients in Tel Aviv and that there are open appointments throughout August.
"There are still appointments," the operator replied when asked why they continue to refer women to a doctor against whom numerous complaints have been filed.
Response of Clalit Health Services:
"A hearing was held for the doctor, in which he defended his innocence. The complaints received were thoroughly examined, and Clalit is currently in the midst of a legal process for his dismissal."
Response of Dr. Guy Bibi through his attorney, Eran Keizman:
"All complaints filed against Dr. Bibi were examined by the authorized bodies at Clalit, and their conclusion was that there is no reason not to continue referring patients to him. Alongside the complaints, there are many patients who express gratitude and appreciation for his dedicated and professional care."
