A 23-year-old resident of Givatayim was arrested on Saturday after allegedly attempting to breach the security perimeter surrounding former Prime Minister and BeYachad leader Naftali Bennett during a tour of a park in Ramat Gan.
According to police and security officials, the suspect approached the security detail while apparently under the influence of alcohol, shouting slogans and attempting to push past the guards to reach Bennett. When security personnel intercepted and pushed him back, the individual resisted and shoved one of the guards.
Security forces immediately subdued the suspect at the scene and detained him until police arrived. Officers transferred the young man to a local police station for questioning. Initial findings indicate that the suspect has no prior criminal record, and authorities are continuing to investigate the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
