Yuval Sade Set to Sign Two-Year Deal with Hanoi FC
The former Maccabi Netanya player, who was released from Romania's CFR Cluj, spent the last two days getting to know the city and will be the first Israeli in the Vietnam league.
Yuval Sade is expected to sign a two-year contract with Hanoi FC today, Monday. After reports emerged that the footballer—who moved this summer from Maccabi Netanya to Romania's CFR Cluj and terminated his contract due to the club's financial distress—had landed in Vietnam to evaluate the team, Sade spent the last two days familiarizing himself with the city and the club. Following a discussion with coach Harry Kewell, he decided to commit to the team.
The player, who has been in Hanoi since Thursday with his agent Idan Ben Abu, has already passed his medical examinations and is scheduled to sign the contract today. Sade will become the first Israeli footballer to play in Vietnam, with the league season set to begin on September 4.
Following Sade's arrival, other Israeli players are reportedly exploring opportunities in the country after realizing the favorable conditions available in the Vietnamese first division.
