Yoni Chetboun: Legitimizing the mutiny in Givati legitimizes 'Brothers in Arms'

During the program 'The Patriots', Colonel (res.) Yoni Chetboun reacted sharply to a serious incident at the Sde Teiman base, where dozens of soldiers abandoned their weapons and left the base. Chetboun emphasized that this is a disgraceful act that must not happen, especially during wartime, and warned of the consequences of such an event for Israel's image in the eyes of the enemy.

Chetboun did not stop at condemning the act itself, but also addressed the danger of the legitimacy that might be granted to it. According to him:

'Even the legitimacy that we in the national camp want to give to our fighters here, to the same extent you are giving legitimacy to 'Brothers in Arms' and the 'Kaplan Force'. Because if you give legitimacy to such a mutiny, you are telling the 'Kaplan Force' and 'Brothers in Arms': 'You were right''.

He emphasized that the reason for the act is irrelevant, as the very act of abandonment and mutiny is forbidden.

Colonel (res.) Chetboun highlighted the studio's support for the fighters, but clarified that there are clear boundaries. He noted:

'This studio gave legitimacy and strength to the fighters against 'Force 100', against the Military Advocate General, and against the war. This studio constantly gave strength to the fighters, but there are boundaries. You will not do this'.

He reiterated the danger that 'the enemy sees this. During wartime, to abandon and commit a mutiny is unacceptable, as much as we love the fighters'.
