Yoav Segalovitz signs agreement with Mansour Abbas: his spot on the list confirmed

A principled agreement has been signed between Mansour Abbas and Yoav Segalovitz: the second spot on the Ra'am list was agreed upon following the public discourse surrounding their contacts. Mansour Abbas, chairman of Ra'am, attempted over the weekend to calm tensions, clarifying that a final decision had not yet been made. However, despite Abbas's public statements, sources familiar with the negotiations told 'Maariv' that a preliminary and principled agreement was signed yesterday at approximately 19:00.
According to the agreement, Segalovitz is expected to be placed in the second spot on the Ra'am list for the Knesset, subject to the completion of all understandings and the fulfillment of additional conditions set by the parties. Sources indicate that receiving one of the top three spots was a central condition set by Segalovitz, with the parties agreeing in principle on the second position.
It should be emphasized that this does not constitute final confirmation that Segalovitz will run as part of Ra'am. The signed agreement is only principled, and the final details and official announcement are expected after August 22, following the Ra'am party primaries. The parties will now discuss two other central conditions set by Segalovitz:

Promoting a framework for national-civil service for youth from the Arab society as part of a policy to encourage broader civil integration.

Ra'am's explicit recognition of the State of Israel as a Jewish and democratic state in accordance with the values of the Declaration of Independence.
This demand carries significant political and symbolic weight and may spark debate within the Arab public and party leadership. Segalovitz is expected to be the first Jewish representative in the party, aiming to serve as a bridge between Jewish and Arab society.
This connection will help Abbas present his party as a legitimate partner in the 'change bloc,' though it may encounter internal opposition within Ra'am. Contacts between MK Mansour Abbas and MK Yoav Segalovitz have been ongoing since January 2026, and now appear to have matured into a final move.
