Hapoel Haifa continues to step up its pace in the transfer window. The club officially announced this evening, Monday, the signing of Nigerian striker William Agada, who agreed to terms for one season through his agent, Shahar Greenberg.

For the 26-year-old Agada, this is a return to a familiar home, having scored six goals in the red uniform during the 2020/21 season while on loan from Hapoel Jerusalem. Agada arrives at the Carmel bringing with him an impressive resume and rich experience. During his career, the striker has scored over 60 goals for senior teams, having broken through at Hapoel Katamon and Hapoel Jerusalem. Later, he made his way to the MLS in the USA, where he recorded a particularly successful chapter with 23 league goals for Sporting Kansas City and Real Salt Lake. For the last half-year, he played for Zaragoza in the Spanish second division.

According to the Transfermarkt website, Agada's current market value is estimated at approximately 600,000 euros. At his peak, during his MLS stint, his value crossed the 2 million euro mark — a figure that indicates the quality and potential he brings to the team's attack.

The team's owner, Yoav Katz, welcomed the signing:

"We are happy to bring back home to Hapoel Haifa a player we know well. William is a fast, high-quality, and experienced striker, and I am sure he will contribute greatly to the team and help us achieve our goals."

Agada's arrival is another statement of intent by the Reds this summer and follows the signing of Shay Elias. The Nigerian striker is the ninth player to join the Hapoel Haifa squad in the current window, following the signings of Cheick Keita, Ariel Mendi, Itay Zafrani, Sali Fahima, Tal Naim, Hib Habiballah, and Noam Cohen.
