Yair Golan quoted Arafat and sparked a storm: "The most dangerous man in Israel"
The chairman of The Democrats, Yair Golan, has sparked controversy after quoting Yasser Arafat in an Arabic-language Facebook post. Responding to criticism regarding his outreach to the Arab sector, he declared: "Whoever does not like it — let him go drink the sea water."
The chairman of The Democrats, Yair Golan, continues to actively engage with the Arab public. In a post published on his Facebook account in Arabic last weekend, he quoted the arch-terrorist Yasser Arafat and declared: "Whoever does not like it — let him go drink the sea water."
Golan used the quote in response to comments from Channel 14 panelist Bezalel Yaakov, who charged: "I see Yair Golan all the time, on every possible platform he has, speaking to the Arab public, addressing them in Arabic; this man is busy fawning over the Bedouin sector."
The chairman of The Democrats did not deny the claims, arguing: "I am not moved by these videos. The future of the State of Israel lies in a Jewish-Arab partnership; there is no other possibility. And to those who do not like it, I can say one thing," and switched to Arabic: "Let them go drink the sea water."
As recalled, a few months ago, Golan clarified that if a government composed of opposition factions is formed, it will rely on the votes of Knesset members from the Arab factions in order to "topple the terrible government of failure."
