Yael Shelbia revealed her secret — and went viral

American content creator David Kermi, known for his street interviews about self-confidence, recently encountered Israeli model Yael Shelbia on the streets of New York, and their conversation quickly gained momentum with millions of views online. During the encounter, Kermi stopped Shelbia and asked: "Excuse me, you look very confident, how do you do it?". In response, the young model replied:

"To be honest, just life experience."

Shelbia shared that the subject was not always obvious to her: "When I was younger, I wasn't that confident. You just have to try again and again and also be embarrassed sometimes — I think that's what builds self-confidence". Later, Kermi asked about a past experience that helped her strengthen her confidence, and she told of a teacher at school who used to require every student to give a speech in front of the class for 10 minutes.

According to her, she practiced for months ahead of her turn: "I didn't sleep well because I was so stressed". Despite the fear, Shelbia managed to face the challenge and said that that moment changed the way she looked at herself: "I was embarrassed at first but I did it. That's where my thinking changed and I thought to myself: 'Just do it, it will be fine'".

At the end, she was asked what message she would like to convey to the children watching her, and she replied: "The day you finish school, everything will be different. School is not the whole world, you will find your way". The warm reactions did not take long to arrive, and the users complimented the Israeli model on the message: "Israeli women are the smartest and most confident, we can learn from their wisdom".

Shelbia also shared a picture from the meeting and took the opportunity to thank the American content creator: "It's been 4 years since the first time we met on the streets of New York. I get so much inspiration from watching your interviews, thank you for this conversation".
