Yael Bar Zohar admits: "I had a crisis recently"
During a relaxing family vacation, the actress shared the personal difficulties she has experienced lately and revealed a surprising connection to Yonit Levi's book, which deals with a particularly sensitive subject.
Amidst the scenery of clear blue sea, a family vacation, and moments of quiet, Yael Bar Zohar has found time in recent days for one of her loves — reading. However, one book she finished during the vacation managed to touch her particularly deeply, to the point that she chose to dedicate several stories to it and share her feelings with her followers. The recommendation also reached Yonit Levi, who shared it on her Instagram page.
The book in question is "Don't Feed the Monster," written by Channel 12 news anchor Yonit Levi and journalist Bianna Golodryga. The book deals with Jewish teenagers in the United States and their coping with antisemitism, and it was written against the backdrop of the rise in antisemitic incidents worldwide after October 7.
Bar Zohar first shared a picture of herself reading and wrote to her followers about the place reading occupies in her life:
"How fun it is to read... excellent time that calms the thoughts and the soul from the chase. I had a crisis recently where I didn't have the quiet to stop for a moment and surrender to reading. The detachment here and the quiet helped me! Family reading time."
Later, she presented the book against the sea view and said that she had finished reading it. "I just finished the book! Moving. Feels real and relevant more than ever," she wrote.
Bar Zohar continued to share moments from the vacation, and in another story wrote next to a picture of the sea: "I would love to live here... at least for a few months. Think about what kind of therapy it is to wake up to this view, the vacation is coming to an end and I'm already sad and want to return before we even flew, magic." In another story, while filming the clear water, she added: "I'm crazy about how clear the water is."
But it was the literary recommendation that received an interesting continuation. Yonit Levi herself shared Bar Zohar's story on her Instagram account. In the picture that Levi shared, one can see the book again, and next to it the things that Bar Zohar wrote about the reading experience and the importance she attributes to the book for Jewish teenagers.
