Woman Stabbed to Death in Beersheba Apartment, Husband Arrested
Nania Malada was stabbed to death in her Beersheba home with her five-year-old son present. Her husband called police and was arrested at the scene.
A tragic domestic incident shook Beersheba overnight as Nania Malada was stabbed to death in her apartment on Ben Or Street. Her five-year-old son was present in the home during the attack, while two older children, aged 16 and 20, were elsewhere.
Details of the Tragic Event
According to preliminary police investigations, the suspect, the victim's husband in his 40s, allegedly inflicted multiple stab wounds on his wife before calling the police himself and waiting at the scene to be arrested. Magen David Adom (MDA) paramedics rushed to the location at approximately 01:42, finding the victim unconscious with critical penetrating injuries. Despite emergency medical efforts, including hemorrhage control and advanced life support during transport to Soroka Medical Center, her death was pronounced shortly after arrival.
Neighbors expressed profound shock and sorrow over the tragedy, describing Malada as a warm, community-minded woman who served on the building's management committee. One neighbor recounted that the five-year-old child had attempted to call her during the night, raising immediate alarm. Residents noted that the couple had recently experienced marital separation, but Malada had allowed her husband to return home after he asked for forgiveness, primarily for the sake of their young son. Police confirmed that no prior reports of domestic violence involving the couple had been lodged.
"She was a wonderful woman, an exemplary mother, and a dedicated neighbor who cared for everyone around her. We are completely in shock," said Rinat, a neighbor of three years.
Broader Statistics on Domestic Violence
Following the incident, welfare authorities and municipal social workers cared for the young boy outside the building in the hours immediately following the murder. Statistics compiled by the Michal Sela Forum indicate that since the beginning of 2026, 11 women have been murdered by their partners in domestic violence incidents across the country, alongside three additional women killed by other family members.
