An Eilat resident was attacked about two weeks ago by a group of young men and was taken to the hospital with multiple injuries. The incident occurred when the victim arrived early in the morning at a convenience store in Eilat, left his car running in the parking lot, and went inside.

When the victim exited the store, he noticed a stranger sitting in his car. When he asked the individual to exit the vehicle, the young man and several of his friends attacked him. The suspects punched and kicked him repeatedly, causing him to fall to the ground.

Eilat District police officers launched an investigation and, after reviewing security camera footage, identified four adult suspects, aged 21, 18, 22, and 20, as well as three minors. The Eilat Magistrate's Court extended their detention.

During the court hearing, a secret report and the security camera footage were presented to the judge, characterizing the incident as a severe crime involving a high level of violence. The video revealed that one of the minors had entered the car and driven it about 20 meters while the victim was exiting the store. One of the suspects prepared a camera, after which the group began to mercilessly beat the victim. There was no prior connection between the victim and the attackers.

The footage shows that all those involved participated in the assault, with none standing aside. The victim, who suffered mainly from head injuries, was taken to Yoseftal Hospital.

Eilat Magistrate's Court Judge David Shaul Gabay Richter stated in his decision:

"This is a serious incident in which the victim was attacked by six suspects, with one entering his car while all participants beat him mercilessly with kicks and punches, even while he was lying on the ground."

The video also captures a woman repeatedly trying to pull the attackers away from the victim, but they continued the assault. The judge concluded that there was reasonable suspicion regarding the suspects and grounds for detention based on public danger.

Eilat District Police stated that a comprehensive investigation was conducted, evidence was gathered, and all seven suspects were arrested.

"The Israel Police views violent incidents with severity and will continue to act decisively to locate those involved, bring them to justice, and maintain public safety," the police stated.
