Maccabi Herzliya Wins 3-5 Thriller; Ashdod and Bnei Yehuda Remain Perfect
The second round of the National League Toto Cup concluded with M.S. Ashdod, Bnei Yehuda, and Maccabi Herzliya maintaining perfect records. These teams are now closing in on the semi-finals.
The second round of the National League Toto Cup was held this Monday. At its conclusion, M.S. Ashdod, Bnei Yehuda, and Maccabi Herzliya remained the only teams with a perfect record, moving closer to the semi-finals.
M.S. Ashdod secured a hard-fought 0:2 away win against Maccabi Jaffa in Group D. Substitute Osama Khalaila scored from the penalty spot in the 79th minute, and young Maor Kuba sealed the result in stoppage time. In parallel, Hapoel Rishon LeZion won 1:3 against Maccabi Kiryat Gat, with goals from Eligijus Jankauskas (45), Ezekiel Henty (50), and Roi Ben Shimon (90+). The visitors' goal was scored by Denis Kozlovsky (69).
Bnei Yehuda maintained the lead in Group C with a 0:1 victory over M.S. Kafr Qasim. Stav Nachmani headed the winning goal in the 53rd minute. In the other group match, Hapoel Kfar Shalem and Ironi Modi'in drew 1:1 (goals by Amir Sabag, 42; Abbas Samari, 77).
Maccabi Herzliya tops Group B after a dramatic 3:5 victory over Hapoel Kfar Saba. Herzliya's goals came from Ansumana Sanyang (10), Alon Ginat (45+3), Liam Burshtein (66, 89), and Idan Kaplener (90+3). For the 'Greens', Roy Harel scored a brace (18, 85), and Leon Karo added one (73). Hapoel Ra'anana defeated Hapoel Afula 1:3, with Amir Berkovich (8) and Peter Michael (24, 61) finding the net.
In Group A, M.S. Kiryat Yam won 1:3 against Maccabi Bnei Reineh, thanks to Sekou Sylla (40) and Ashley Coffie (79, 90). Maccabi Ahi Nazareth and Hapoel Acre drew 1:1 (goals: Muhammad Sabah, 38; Shlomi Ovnish, 48).
