Ventura and Kangwa Fined for Late Arrival to Hapoel Be'er Sheva Training
Kings Kangwa and Lucas Ventura have been fined for arriving late to Hapoel Be'er Sheva's pre-season training camp. Under club policy, the players were charged 1,000 euros for each day of delay.
Kings Kangwa and Lucas Ventura were fined following their late arrival to the start of Hapoel Be'er Sheva's training sessions. As recalled, the two arrived after the team had already begun preparations for the new season. Ventura arrived before Kangwa and flew with the team from Israel to the training camp in Poland, while the Zambian arrived directly to Kielce.
Even before the team went on break, players were informed that anyone arriving late would receive a fine of 1,000 euros for each day of delay. Ventura was late by a week and was therefore fined 7,000 euros, while Kangwa was late by 10 days and was fined 10,000 euros.
The club decided not to overlook the conduct of the two, even though the situation surrounding them this summer was delicate. It was clear that Kangwa would receive offers to leave and that Ventura was also expecting a transfer. For Hapoel Be'er Sheva, discipline is a supreme value, and the players knew well that the club would not tolerate tardiness.
Both midfielders are traveling to Hungary, where Hapoel Be'er Sheva will meet Vikingur on Wednesday in the second leg of the Conference League second qualifying round. Trailing 2:1, the team needs to turn the result around. For Kangwa, this will be his final match in a Hapoel Be'er Sheva uniform. Immediately after, he will fly to Athens to join Panathinaikos.
The player has been encouraging his teammates in recent days and is eager to leave with a victory that would advance Hapoel Be'er Sheva to the third qualifying round and guarantee at least a spot in the Conference League phase, ending a three-year drought in European competition.
